Early in the 19th-century a wave of German settlers created families, farms, stone cottages and Lutheran churches on the fertile soils of the Barossa Valley - northeast of Adelaide. It's now become one of Australia's spectacular wine regions and consistently produces high quality vintages from the knowledge and experience of seven generations of grape growers and winemakers. Shiraz grapes are the local speciality with Chardonnay and Semillon popular too. On our tours we visit the world renowned wineries and explore the up and coming boutique and artisan winemakers producing the next generation of Australian wines.
