My partner and I were in Australia and coming from the Napa Valley we liked the idea of a private wine tour. Peter and his wife from Aussie Wine Tours turned out to be the best value for money deal. Peter looked after all the booking details [and thank goodness the Napa is so different] and Gail actually did the tour on the Saturday.

Their organisation, selection of wineries was nothing short of amazing. We had private tastings at all the wineries, were shown and tasted wines that were not on the tasting lists or said Not for Tasting. All the cellar staff at the tastings were so knowledgeable and friendly and Lunch was absolutely delicious.

The vehicles were comfortable and spotless the knowledge that Gail had of the wines and wineries and her service made us feel so special, nothing was a problem , even when we said we grow a lot of Zinfindel at home , she found us one here.

If you are planning a trip to the Hunter Valley then one company you have to call is Aussie Wine Tours because if you dont then you haven't seen the Hunter Valley the way you should have.

Thanks again Gail and Peter we will be back

Well what a day! I was empowered to organise a wine tour for John and Andrea with secret instructions that I had to find nice romantic places for them to enjoy the wine and set the scene for John to pop the question. Started the day at Peterson Champagne House where the lovely couple enjoyed a bottle of bubbles and cheese on the deck. Then onto Audrey Wilkinson where after a short tasting both ventured out onto the the grassed area with a picnic blanket and bottle of wine [thank you Mary Anne] After a glass or two the nerves were gone and the question was popped. I heard the response in the car park a happy laugh from Andrea and a big cuddle for John [job done] After they had finished their wine I moved the happy couple [ring on finger] to Ivanhoe where they enjoyed a bottle of Semillion on the deck overlooking the vineyard. Congratulations to you both and may your life together be a long and happy one.

Apologies for my late response!

Below is a little blurb from me and the gang from our day (please feel
free to edit etc);

There could not be a better way of exploring the Hunter wine region than
with Peter from Aussie Wine Tours. We wanted a personal wine tour for
two couples (no buses and BBQ's) and Peter delivered. From being picked
up at the door of our cabin in Pokolbin, Peter personalised the day to
suit what we wanted. His connections with the local cellar doors meant
we had private wine tasting with premium wines not normally offered to
the general public.
We had a fantastic time, and it is the best wine tour any of us have
experienced.

Peter's limousine was so immaculately kept, and his gentlemanly manners
made us girls feel like rock stars (who doesn't like having the door
opened for them?).

Thanks again Pete for a fantastic day!

Julianne Radford

The Hunter Valley is the oldest Wine Growing region in Australia. Our close proximity to Sydney makes it one of the most popular tourist attractions in NSW. Many Sydneysiders use the Hunter Valley as a weekend getaway ,stress retreat or wedding venue.

With over 150 cellar doors it is hard for even the most frequent visitor to find some of these small boutique little outlets without the aid of some assistance. The majority of visitors do or have used local Wine Tour Companies to show them around but like any business the idea is to make money not waste it therefore many bus operators just drive around the block so to speak to reduce costs and don't get me wrong it can be a very interesting block but their pick up locations, lunch and designated stops form the itinerary that so many take. This means a lot of the small unknown wineries are missed. Many of these smaller wineries cannot also cater for bus groups and therefore are often missed for this reason.

Many visitors will then select a designated driver and try to visit the wineries of their choice relying on information they have gathered from out of date publications and simply give up and revert to going to the large commercial wineries for peace of mind.

Well at AUSSIE WINE TOURS this is not the case. We only offer PRIVATE HUNTER VALLEY WINE TOURS our tours are customised to suit you ,your tastes and distance is not an object. If we wanted to go around in circles we would drive trotters not Hire Cars. We keep up to date with the new releases, new cellar doors, local and major wine show results so when you ask about a style of wine we know where the good ones are.

So the next time you are thinking of coming to the Hunter Valley to do a Hunter Valley Wine Tour think AUSSIE because "We'll show you what you cant find!'

Do we do Cheese and chocolate? How much is a full day and a half day tour? etc etc The simple answer is we do what you want or we customise the tour to suit YOU and WE CHARGE EVERYBODY THE SAME!

Apples are not Apples when it comes to wine tours. If you are going to ring around and compare prices then you have to compare quality. We are featured in Australia's BEST wine tours", WHY? read the title! Because that is what we offer The Best Wine Tour Experience. We are not the cheapest, we are not the dearest we are just the BEST! Do you buy the cheapest apples in the supermarket or buy the freshest? Well wine tours are the same. My Wife Gail and I are the only two Chauffeurs /guides that we use. This ensures a consistant level of quality and experience, we are local, we have exceptional wine and area knowledge. I personally have visited over 100 cellar doors we keep up with new releases and what is available where and when and if we don't know something we will find out before days end. We can normally arrange private tastings at most wineries and can pull strings to get you into the top restaurants. WHY? you ask. Because when you are the best you have the best customers and when you have the best customers the best wineries and restaurants want to see YOU. If you are after an outstanding tour with professional personalised service then look at the stats not the price. Ring us today ,Have a chat and we can tell you why you don't need to ring anywhere else.

Some people have recently asked for a copy of their itinerary. We believe that on most ocassions we design our itineraries on the day, reason being that we can see what your palate is like and choose the wineries that we believe have the wine that you will enjoy. If you really need to know where you will be going it is not a problem for us to pre-book our itinerary but please keep in mind that though courtesy we need to stick to the booked itinerary. Some wineries may have refused bookings to people so that they could accommodate you and your group. We try to customise each tour to suit your tastes but if you really want to know your itinerary then please accept that we need to stick too what we have booked. Thanks for your understanding
We are pleased to re-introduce our half day wine tours and this time 7 days a week. After prolonged public pressure and a long hard think about how this might work for you the visitor we have come up with the following. To be fair to both the customer and me [the one who is supposed to make money out of this ha] We decided to trial the half day tours on a set time schedule. they are only available from local Wine Country accommodation and have set pick up and drop off times. The morning tour is 9-30 am till 1-00 pm and the afternoon tour is 1-30 pm till 5-00 pm. We recommend no lunch stops in the half day tours as this will only consume the majority of your tasting time waiting for your meal. We naturally still offer the full day tours and depending on availability offer an hourly hire along with our airport transfers. So if you want a true Aussie experience please give us a call or drop us an email and we can discuss your options.
